The Uncharted series is without doubt one of the best looking games on the PS3 and from the looks of the trailer they aren’t holding back. You can be sure that the ruined streets of what looks to be like New York will look absolutely stunning as Naughty Dog seemed to have perfected the look and feel of ruined temples and cities can’t be that hard, can they? Naughty Dog have also said on twitter that “#TheLastofUs trailer was definitely not CG. all in-engine captures from PS3, just like Uncharted cinematics”.

Now The Last of Us looks like it could be playing along the lines of Dead Island or the Left 4 dead series with those mutated creatures trying to suck out the brains of the old guy in the trailer. Not only that but other Humans could be an altogether different challenge in the game as they could turn out to be smarter, better armed and you might have to turn to altogether different tactics in order to overcome these challenges. I mean we saw this in Uncharted 2 when Nate had to take on both humans and those weird blue things at the end of the game. In their press release Naughty Dog have stated that:

The Last of Us is a genre-defining experience that blends survival and action elements to tell a character driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. Abandoned cities are being reclaimed by nature and the remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons and whatever they can get their hands on. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a brave teenage girl who is wise beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.

So we know that this game will be on a visual level similar to that of the Uncharted series, but what is the story going to be like? I mean at first look the trailer sort of gives off an I Am Legend sort of Vibe with the ruined city and those mutated creatures trying to kill you. But it could be quite reminiscent of HomeFront but that’s just my theory.

Although one of the defining reasons why we should be really excited about this game is of course, the gameplay! Now with a proven developer running the show, I think it is safe to say that if they take a leaf out of any of the Uncharted games then The Last of Us will prove a HUGE success and could be another defining game in the console wars.

Overall I think it’s safe to say that The Last of Us could potentially be one of the biggest survival/action games to ever hit the PS3, I mean my mouth is just watering at the thought of the combination of Naughty Dog gameplay/ graphics coupled with the whole story behind the game and I can’t wait to get more information on the game!

General Gameplay Tips

#1 Take you time!

Sprinting about all over the place will get you killed almost instantly, I see loads of people sprinting all over the place and they get killed almost instantly by players due to the fact that the oposing players can aim far faster than you and start firing their weapon at you first, leaving you at a huge disadvantage. So my advice is to take you time and move slowly when around enemies and make sure that you have your weapon raised at all times, aiming towards gaps where enemies may appear and you will find yourself picking up easy kills.

#2 Make sure you know where the enemy are!

Keep an eye on your radar at all times and make sure you aren’t going to run straight into the heart of the enemy’s spawn zone. Instead try to guage where abouts your enemy are and try to flank them as this can really help you to pick up loads of easy kills against enemies that are not expecting you. Stay on the fringes though as venturing too far into the enemies spawn area will inevitably lead to you dying.

#3 Reload!

If you have just killed someone and have safely gotten behind cover then make sure that you reload your weapon before venturing out from cover again. Having an empty clip can mean disaster when you go up against several enemies so having a full clip at all times can really impact your scores!

#4 Experiment with Different Class Setups!

Try mixing things up every now and again, swap out old perks for new ones that you haven’t tried before. Perks can really help to improve your play style. If for example you like to flank your enemies, then swapping in Assassin as one of your perks would be very worthwhile as this would mean that the enemy cannot see you on their mini-maps and you have a better chance of building up streaks.

#5 Watch your killcam!

Core players make sure to watch your killcams! The more you watch your killcams the more you pickup on where you went wrong and what you could do in the future to avoid such mistakes. A great player is one that is constantly learning from his mistakes and trying to constantly improve himself as a player and you need to start doing this if you want to become the best and the only way to do this is to keep playing!

#6 Keep Calm

The best players perform well under any situations as they are able to keep calm even when they keep getting noob-tubed from halfway across the map. Keeping calm also makes sure that you keep a cool head and don’t rush into situations out of sheer frustration as this usually just leads to your demise.

Many of you may be having problems with your version of Battlefield 3 as it may be crashing after several minutes of gameplay.

One of the problems that could be affecting you is your graphics card settings. Battlefield 3 dynamically overclocks your graphics processing unit to make sure that it gets the best performance from it and this could cause your game to freeze if it is already running at the highest capacity.

Fix #1 – Underclock your GPU

In order to solve your freezing problems we would recommend that you download the nVidia system tools 6.06. Download Here.

Once you have that installed you will want to go to your nVidia Control Panel and turn down your GPU clock speed down by around 50-100MHz as this will mean that your graphics card won’t be using as much power and it will allow Battlefield 3 to dynamically overclock your GPU without it maxing out and crashing.

Once you have underclocked your GPU start up Battlefield and it should run fine, however if it doesn’t then we suggest you try underclocking your GPU further and trying out which settings works best for your computer.

An anonymous user on 4chan is claiming to have connections to Rockstar Games leaked information and here is what that said. Whether you choose to believe these rumours is up to you but we are just reporting what we have heard so far!

-The protagonist is Hispanic and his name is Adrian.

-It takes place in San Andreas in 2012. The Mayan end of the world is parodied a lot because of this.

-You start out in Los Santos and are in your rival’s turf, Varrios Los Aztecas, after getting beaten up and robbed.

-The game revolves around money in a big deal. I’d reveal the big idea, but I don’t want to ruin it.

-Multiplayer is in again. There are a couple of new game modes, co-op story, and 32-player game modes for consoles and 64 player for PC. PC also includes dedicated servers.

-PC comes out on launch and is being ported by Leeds. From what they have shown us it is optimized much better than GTA 4.

-San Andreas includes all the same cities from GTA SA and this time they have all became ab it bigger as well as much more detailed.

-Gang turf wars are back. This time not only the general gang are in charge but different sets such as57th Ballas or the Eastside Azteca. They have their own graffiti. You can tag up stuff with custom sprays now too.

-In the end your protag dies once again like in RDR. Afterwards you play as his brother who inherits the money.

-”The money” I refer to comes from a massive drug trade that ships to San Andreas. Its fought over a lot throughout the story and it comes with lots of money. It has ties to your family so it becomes a bigger deal.

-The timeline continues off of GTA 4. It is referenced a lot. I’m not really sure whether Niko dies but he’s mentioned at least twice.

-Car modding is back so is lowriding of course.

-There are 9 radio stations. It features a range of music. Some of the rap is new, some is old. There’s a better selection than GTA 4 though IMO.

-Military has returned in the 6 star wanted level except they are referred to as National Guard.

-Cover system is upgraded and plays more smoothly.

-The moral decisions you saw in GTA IV have more effect on the story now. There are at otal of 4 unique endings. 2 bad, 2 good. Whether the protag dies in all of them you’ll just have to figure out since the endings are actually pretty cool.

-More girlfriends.

-Parachutes.

-Fun cheats are back!

All I can really say though is, San Andreas. We have missed you!

#1. Improved Graphics

Now this pretty much goes without saying to be honest with you, I mean with every new game/sequel that comes out you expect fancy new graphics which test your gaming machines to their limits but look ever so sweet whilst playing. This isn’t insinuating that Grand Theft Auto 4′s graphics were at all poor, not at all! GTA 4′s graphics have to be some of the best graphics I have ever seen in a game, but most of you have probably seen the ENB mod that was brought out a while ago which made GTA 4′s original graphics look like pacman, well not quite but you get the picture.

God knows how they would improve upon those graphics but I want them in GTA 5!

#2. PLANES!

Remember the days when you could just pop to your nearest army base and hijack a hydra? Well I certainly do and I definitely miss them! GTA 4 was pretty disappointing when it came to the whole aviation side of things, with only a few helicopters to mess about in. A revival of all things airborne is an absolute must have in GTA 5!

#3. Car Upgrades

Most of the cars in GTA 4 felt kinda similar and to be honest this was another aspect of the game which I found disappointing, I used to love upgrading my cars back in the good ol’ San Andreas days! Putting all sorts of cool spoilers and car kits on them as well as a kick as paint job was a really awesome part of the game for me and I was sad to see that you could no longer do this in GTA 4. Bring back the car mods!

#4. Bring Back Gang Wars!

Gang wars were another awesome part of San Andreas which they left out of IV, I mean it was great grabbing a load of gangster buddies and driveby-ing rival gang members! Also I found it pretty fun finding new and imaginative ways to kill them off… But this was definitely one cool feature of San Andreas which wouldn’t be out of place in V!

#5. Buildings

There is something which I think has been missing from all of the GTA games out there, the ability to open doors and explore buildings etc. It might be impossible on the current PS3 and Xbox’s hardware but the next-gen consoles should be able to handle such demand with ease and this is something which would definitely help to add a hell of a lot of scope to the game. Also I do love to blow some S**t up at times and if they were able to make buildings etc. destroyable then that would make any tank/hydra rampages oh, so much sweeter! Probably not going to happen but you know, we all dream!
